The cheapest groceries, shared among friends

Nobody can check every shop alone. Five friends can: each one posts what they see, with the place, and after 5 days the deal disappears on its own.

🌐 Español · English

Sofía, Martín, Valentina, Nico and Camila live near Bv. Oroño, in Rosario, Argentina. Each of them shops on their own, but all of them see prices: yerba mate at the wholesaler, milk at the corner store, bread at the bakery round the corner. So they set up a group on JamboQR, Compras en Equipo («shopping as a team»), and now what one of them sees, all five can use.

The key is that every deal lasts 5 days. After that it disappears on its own, so the group never fills up with old prices and nobody walks to a shop for something that is already gone.

Together you find better prices

In a single week of the group in this guide: yerba mate at $4,590 instead of $5,290, cooking oil at $3,990 instead of $4,590 and milk at $1,790 instead of $1,990. Buying the yerba, the oil and six litres of milk where the group said, they save $2,500 (Argentine pesos). And that is just what one person saw; the more of you there are, the more you find.

The prices are examples: in your neighbourhood, your group sets them.

The cheapest groceries, shared among friends

1 A group for your friends

In My Stores, tap Create Store with the name of the group, and under Manage switch on Shared store (a group of deals). Your personal store will not do: that one is only yours, and the free plan already includes one more.

The Group tab shows how many you are and the Post a deal here button. In a group each deal carries its own shop, not the store's address.

2 Bring your friends in with a QR

In the Group tab, the Invitation card has the QR code and the link. Send it to your friends' chat and that is it: whoever opens it joins with one tap.

If the link ever ends up somewhere you did not want, New link cancels the old one.

3 Saw a good price? Post it with the place

From Post a deal here: the product, the price and, under Product location, the shop. As you type, the shops the group has already used appear with their distance; tap one and its name and pin are copied.

Always a shop or a market, never a home: everyone sees the pin on the map.

4 5 days, then it goes away on its own

In the same form, Expires in: type 5 and choose days. The app tells you the date until which it will be shown.

When the time is up, the deal stops showing in the group, on the map and in searches, without anyone having to delete it. If the price is still good, whoever posted it renews it.

5 Every deal says when it expires

In the group's list, each deal carries its date: «Expires» and the day. At a glance you see what is new and what is about to go.

That is what makes the group trustworthy: what you see is from this week, not from a month ago.

6 The same product, in two places

Martín saw yerba mate at $5,290 at the supermarket; Sofía, at $4,590 at the wholesaler. The product page shows both, each with its shop and its price.

That comparison is exactly what nobody can do alone.

7 Is the deal still on? Whoever is there says so

Every deal has Is the deal still on? with Still on and Gone. You can only vote while at the shop (within 500 m): the phone checks.

So before you leave home, you already know whether the cheap yerba is still there.

8 The whole neighbourhood on a map

The group's Map tab puts every deal at its shop, with the list by place underneath. It is the «what is worth buying around here today?» view.

Ideas for your group

  • Friends, neighbours in the same building or workmates: five people who shop in different places are already enough to notice the difference.
  • Split the shops between you: one checks the wholesaler, another the greengrocer, another the butcher.
  • Everyday things first: yerba mate or coffee, milk, oil, pasta, bread. That is where the savings add up most.
  • Five days is a good length for groceries; a weekend deal can last less.
  • It is free. Deals go through the same automatic review as everything published on JamboQR.
